Gator Skin Road Tyre

Use: Road

Weight(g): 320

Bead: Wire bead

Puncture protection: Duraskin

TPI: 170

Highly puncture resistant training tyre with unique grippywinter compound tread.

The ultimate wire bead training & racing tyre wherepuncture protection is priority. Using the latest technology against flats theGatorSkin range uses an aramid breaker and Duraskin® sidewall ProTection. TheDuraskin sidewall reinforcement forms an external protective sheild over theentire casing to prevent cuts, puntures and abrasions. The slick natural rubbertread is designed to perform well in wet/wintery conditions.

Puntureresistance is almost up there with the Specialized Armadillo Elite, thanks toan aramid strip underneath the central section of the tread, and the sidewalls'reinforcing polyamide mesh(Duraskin).
The Gatorskin is impressive at keepingout larger attackers like big thorns and shards of glass. Grip is great, most notably for cornering in the wet where these tyres are the stars among others anddurability is excellent too. The set weighed in at 214g each - considerablylighter than Conti's claimed weight of 230g, which is unusual. You could easilyrace on these tyres but they really excel for off-season mile-munching.

If you keepthem at 110-120psi and don't run them down to the casing, they live up toConti's claim of being 'the ultimate training and racing tyre where punctureprotection is priority'.

The bead-to-bead Duraskin layer makes the sidewallsslash-resistant and the aramid belt under the tread is tough for a trainingtyre. It's light and fast too, with a rolling performance not far off that of arace tyre.
